Facts In Brief
The University of New South Wales is one of Australia's great universities. Having begun life in 1949 with just 46 students, it has expanded rapidly and now has over 39,000 students and over 6,000 staff on its two Sydney campuses (Kensington, and the College of Fine Arts in Paddington) as well as the University College (ADFA) in Canberra and a number of research stations in other parts of New South Wales.
UNSW is recognised throughout the world as an important centre of learning. It has a reputation for excellence in research and teaching which is reflected in the demand for entry to its courses from high achieving students, the quality of its staff and the relevance of its graduates to the community in which they work. It has a strong international profile. This is based on our distinguished research record, on relationships that have been formed with overseas universities to foster joint programs, and on the quality and diverse background of our academic staff. Many staff have achieved international recognition in the scholarly community. The University's long history of providing opportunities for overseas students to study at UNSW, and the many links forged with graduates when they return to their homes, have contributed to our international reputation. |

For more information about the statistics please continue reading below... The Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) and the Graduate Destination Survey (GDS) are administered bi-annually to UNSW graduates over a 6-month period post graduation. The online interactive analysis tools data will be updated on an ongoing basis over the 6-month period to provide a profile that is always current. The tool allows the user to drill down to program level or field of education level for each of the selection requests that include CEQ mean scale, CEQ agreement scale, CEQ broad agreement scale, GDS unemployment rate, GDS further full-time study rate, and GDS/CEQ response rates by the following aggregations, career level, citizenship, age group, survey form type and survey administration date over a three year time period. The CEQ is a set of 13 questions that are grouped around 3 focus areas, Good Teaching (6 questions), Generic Skills (6 questions), and Overall Satisfaction (1 question). Each of the questions are on a 5-pt scale, where 1 is Strongly Disagree, 2 is Disagree, 3 is Neither Agree or Disagree, 4 is Agree, and 5 is Strongly Agree. The variables presented in the report are:
