Enrolment Plan - Load Generated and Load Taught
Each year a UNSW Enrolment Plan is developed which provides details of
projections of student load (in EFTSU) by program and teaching Faculty. The projections
are based on average retention rates by program and funding type, new programs proposed,
and planned intakes in each program provided by Deans.
The UNSW Enrolment Plan is used as the basis of the University's annual
discussions with the Department of Education, Science and Training about enrloment profile
and funding, and the allocation of resources internally to Faculties through the UNSW
Budget. It is also used to determine targets for admission of students to each program at
the beginning of the year and at the commencement of second semester each year.
The Institutional Analysis and Reporting Office publishes a set of tables to
this website which show the planned versus the actual intake for each funding type,
program level and program for each Faculty. The tables are based on load generated and
load taught. The tables are updated every week.
